We have 16 competitors in this year's Hoof to Hotplate competition. The cattle were all processed at Harris Meats, where the on the Hook section was judged. The taste section was held at Amberley A & P Show where the judges had a huge challenge of deciding which steak tasted the best. The chefs from the Nor-Wester Cafe did a fantastic job of cooking the steaks - medium rare.
Congratulations to Robert and Jean Forrester for taking out the overall prize. Second was Jock and Pip Foster and third was David Inkson. Forresters won the taste test, Fosters won the Hook section, and Hamish Gardiner, Pinegrove Stud, won the Hoof section.
Well done to all the competitors, it was a fantastic event.
